NAMI is the largest grassroots organization dedicated to building better lives for millions of Americans affected by mental illness.

Thousands of volunteer members and supporters in communities across the country are the face and voice of the NAMI movement. Our families, individuals, and friends come together to give and receive help and hope. NAMI is families and individuals who have experienced mental illness, who work each day to raise awareness and provide essential—and free—education.
We offer no-cost classes and support group programs for people affected by mental illness and their loved ones as well as education and training for schools, workplaces, faith communities and neighborhoods. With more than nine education programs— including support groups, community meetings, and other outreach—NAMI Austin is a vital resource for individuals and families when they need a place to turn.
